About Us

Hop Heads of Southeast Missouri is a homebrewing club with a membership based primarily in the Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois areas founded in 2013. We are a very young but focused club dedicated to the art of homebrewing and the appreciation of craft beers. Our membership is open to brewers and wanna-be-brewers alike. Each member is expected to contribute to the same extent that they derive club benefits.

Our main goal is to promote the practice of better brewing and to have fun while doing it. The club is still small, but there is a wealth of knowledge within its membership. One of our members owns a local homebrew supply store and micro-brewery, but the majority of our members are passionate all-grain and extract homebrewers.

In order to run the club, meetings and organize events more smoothly, we have officers that hold the following elected positions: (click on the links below to meet our officers)

The officers hold their position for a twelve month period, until a meeting to elect new officers is held. Please see the Clubs By-Laws for more infomation about elections and offical club business.

Club Meetings
Club meetings are held at Home Brew Supply of Southeast Missouri located at 3463 State Highway FF, Jackson, MO. 63755 every third Monday of each month at 6:00PM. (You will have to use the “contact us” form below to find out the for sure date of the next meeting or click here to see the scheduled events and meetings) The meetings usually follow the format:

1.6:00 PM – Social time : Share and taste homebrew, chat, catch up, etc.

2.6:30 PM – Start of meeting : Club business and upcoming events are discussed and sign up lists for attendees and organizers are distributed.

3.7:00 PM – Brewing Discussions : These talks are sometimes scheduled to address a specific aspect of the brewing process. This is usually limited to 30 minutes.

4.7:45 PM – : This time is dedicated to discussing internal beer style competitons that we will hold and judge any beers that are being rated submitted for compition. We will also perform any group projects at this time as well such as group builds, group purchases and so on.

5.8:00 PM – Wrap Up : Wrap up the meeting talks or tastings.
